Vitamin K3 is essential for efficient blood-clotting and to maintain proper bone calcification. Practically Vitamin K3 assists in the treatment of haemorrhagic-type disease, namely coccidiosis. The lack of Vitamin K3 in chicks infected with eimeria species sharply increases the rate of mortality and this is true also in case of mild or subclinical infections. Vitamin K3 can slso revent the haemorrhagic consequences brought about by the administration of sulpha drugs and antibiotics which, by suppressing the fermentation of intestinal bacterial flora reduce rhe endogenous bacterial syntheses of vitamin K3 as family citamin, sufficient adding of vitamin K3 in feed can raise the healthy level if animal especially stress condition. 

The most common use of supplemental vitamin D3 in livestock is to prevent rickets and other bone deformities.  Recent research, however, suggests that this vitamin also has great potential as a substitute for or complement to antibiotics.  It can help animals combat a wide array of both bacterial and viral diseases, most notably mastitis.  Careful supplementation may also prolong the lives of dogs with congestive heart failure.

Two other interesting uses of vitamin D3 are enhancing reproductive performance and increasing meat tenderness when fed before slaughter.
